How do I find my fire hazard severity zone?

Enter the address above. The check reads the CAL FIRE maps at that point.

Were the maps updated?

Yes. CAL FIRE released local responsibility area maps in 2025, with High and Moderate zones added to Very High. State area maps date from 2023.

Does this replace the Natural Hazard Disclosure?

No. The seller owes that statement (Civil Code § 1103), and it covers flood and dam zones, which we do not.

What does a Very High zone change?

Disclosure at sale, defensible space duties, and building rules for fire zones; insurance can change too.

My city shows a different map. Why?

Cities can adopt the state map with additions. Ask the city which map applies.
